Man, 19, charged with driving offences following incidents in Winchester and Romsey

Officers investigating the reported theft of a motorbike in Winchester and subsequent fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Romsey have now charged a man.

Lincoln Andrew Fielder, of Alder Avenue, Hedge End, has been charged with the following offences;

• Use a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance
• Drive a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence
• Driver of a vehicle which failed to stop after a road accident
• Aggravated vehicle taking

The charges follow an incident on the evening of Thursday 13 August, during which a for-sale motorbike was reported stolen during a test ride.

The same motorbike was then involved in a collision with another vehicle, causing damage to the car in question.

Fielder has been bailed to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 11 November.
